Government Contracting

The AbilityOne Program (formerly the Javits-Wagner-O'Day (JWOD) Program coordinates Government purchases of products and services provided by nonprofit agencies employing individuals who are blind or severely disabled.  This program provides Federal customers with a wide array of quality products and services, while providing thousands of people with severe disabilities real jobs and increased independence.

Through AbilityOne contracts, 36,000 Americans who are blind or have other severe disabilities have obtained meaningful employment.  The purchase of AbilityOne products and services by Federal customers helps battle the 70 percent unemployment rate faced by this largely untapped labor resource, and contributes to the diversity of your workplace.

AbilityOne accounts for nearly two-thirds of the ServiceSource Netwrok’s overall revenue and jops for people with disabilities. AbilityOne jobs are some of the best jobs for people with disabilities because of the wages, benefits, long-term stability, integrated environments and the supports that non-profits provide.

The ServiceSource Network has AbilityOne contracts in the following service areas:
  • Mail Center Management
  • Food Service Operations
  • Administrative/Office Support Services
  • Logistics
  • Manufaturing
