ServiceSource is proud to be an AbilityOne provider and to celebrate over 25 years of
empowering people with disabilities through the AbilityOne Program.
The AbilityOne Program creates jobs and training opportunities for people who are blind or who have other severe disabilities, empowering them to lead more productive and independent lives. Its primary means of doing so is by requiring Government agencies to purchase selected products and services from nonprofit organizations employing such individuals.
Currently, the AbilityOne Program provides employment opportunities for more than 45,000 people who are blind or have other severe disabilities by orchestrating Government purchases of products and services provided by nonprofit agencies employing such individuals throughout the country.
AbilityOne jobs are some of the best jobs for people with disabilities because of the wages, benefits, long-term stability, integrated environments and the supports that non-profits provide.
People with disabilities work in a variety of integrated job settings throughout the ServiceSource Network. AbilityOne jobs include:
- Making patient id cards at the VA Medical Center
- Registering vehicles that enter Ft. Bragg, NC
- Processing mail at IRS locations nationwide
- Operating the communications command squadron at Pope AFB 24 hours a day/365 days a year
Sixy-five percent of ServiceSource Network employees working in community based jobs are on AbilityOne service contracts.
